Draft of creating a college magazine.

In order to fulfil assessment objective, I have met AO2, AO3 and AO4 because I have applied knowledge and understanding of creating a media product; I have demonstrated the ability to plan and construct media products using technical and creative skills; and I have demonstrated the ability to undertake and apply appropriate research.

Below is the front cover of my college magazine. It's not completely perfect but I didn't want to spend too much time on creating it. It's a very basic front cover but I think it has elements of a college magazine due to the image and the obvious masthead. I took a medium, close up shot and added effects onto images and texts such as back drop shadows, and opacity changes.

Below is my contents page. It is very, very basic. I didn't want to spend too much time on creating it because I wanted to create a very basic layout of what was included, such as editor's comments, the page spreads and relevant images.

When creating the college magazine, I had to take into consideration the elements of what makes a college magazine and was asked to take specificically a medium close up shot of a student to create a front cover. I already had knowledge of medium close up shots, but I researched them to make sure the shot I was going to take was a definite medium close up. I browsed google, and found out the actual definition of a medium close up which is: Halfway between a mid-shot and a close-up. This shot shows the face more clearly, without getting uncomfortably close.
